About the book

A work to return to, not to consume.

Wattles presents this book as a practical manual, not a treatise: written for people who need money first and philosophy later. His starting point is that wanting a fuller life is legitimate, and that wealth lets you develop who you are. From there he proposes what he calls “thinking in the certain way”: forming a clear picture of what you want, holding it with faith and gratitude, and prospering by creating value instead of competing for what others have. The second half turns to daily life: do today what you can where you are, complete each small task well, choose work that fits your talents and leave every person with the sense of gaining from you. Some ideas belong to the New Thought movement of his time and are best read critically; the tutor helps you do that.
